National Sustainability Awards for Opportunity Okehampton

6kW wind turbine at Okehampton Business CentreOkehampton Business Centre, a newly completed small-business incubation centre at which SEI installed a renewable energy system, has recently won a number of prestigious prizes for its sustainable design. These include:

  • "Best Sustainability Project" at the LABC National Built-in Quality Awards
  • Rated as "Excellent" by the CEEQUAL scheme
  • Rated as "Excellent" by the BREEAM scheme
  • Shortlisted for the "Best Small Renewable Energy Scheme" prize at REGEN South-West's South West Green Energy Awards

SEI provided West Devon Borough Council with a combined 8.32 kWp photovoltaic (solar panel) and 6 kW wind turbine system earlier this year. The system is designed to integrate seamlessly with the building, which also contains a timber-frame structure, a woodchip burner and a sophisticated BMS.
