Renewable energy systems can be incorporated into the design of new buildings or into refurbishment programmes; or simply retrofitted onto an existing building. Sustainable Energy Installations is experienced in working with architects and developers to incorporate sustainable energy features into building projects. Our staff are equally experienced in working on retro-fit projects, integrating renewable energy systems with existing building services and ensuring minimum disruption for tenants or building users.
Sustainable Energy Installations (SEI) provides a fully inclusive service from initial concept through to installation and after sales care. Our services include:
Although SEI sells renewable energy systems, it is not in our interests or most importantly our clients to install systems that are not suitable for their situation. Our project managers and engineers provide clear advice as to the suitability of your site throughout the design process; If a site is not suitable we will inform you and suggest other suitable low carbon technologies that you can consider.
For substantial projects it is always recommended to carry out a feasibility study to formally assess the viability of a site. SEI can offer studies appropriate to the scale of the project, ranging from one-day site visits to in-depth investigations.
As part of our service we will also give you an indication of the amount of electricity the system is likely to generate and an estimate of the CO2 emissions mitigated from energy generated.
Grants are available for some projects that can offset a considerable amount of the project cost. While most grant applications involve large amounts of work and technical knowledge of the project, SEI will help with completing the forms. Where proxy submissions are allowed, SEI will complete the application forms on your behalf: Our experience with applications ensures a high chance of securing funding.
Further information on grants currently available is on our grants page.
Our system designers are able to size an efficient, cost effective and suitable microgeneration system to suit your needs. SEI has the design experience to specify all sizes and configurations of microgeneration project, and since we also install and maintain systems our designs will aim to take account of site factors that might otherwise be overlooked.
Since SEI is not tied to any manufacturer, our designs will always be for the best fit to your specifications. Furthermore, we are able to specify and provide drawings for bespoke components where off-the-shelf parts are not available.
All this means that whether your project involves upgrading a housing estate or supplying a large commercial build, our system design will be the most efficient, cost-effective and practical solution possible.
SEI maintains a network of specialised installation teams around the country. Every team adheres to high quality standards, and follow strict working methods to ensure a smooth installation process. All of our installer teams are NICEIC certified.
Our project managers and installation teams are experienced at working alongside other contractors on large projects. We aim to minimise disruption to building users and adhere to safe working practices and ensure cable runs are descretely placed to minise visual impact.
All of SEI's installation work carries a two-year warranty for workmanship, in addition to any manufacturer's component warranties.
Once installed, the DC and AC circuitry of every system needs to be commissioned and certified as fully functional prior to use. All of SEI's installation works include commissioning of the systems, and documentation is kept in the comprehensive Operation and Maintenance Manual supplied with the completed system.
Larger systems (over 16A per phase) are covered by Engineering Recommendation G59/1 and require additional equipment (G59 Relay). These need to be commissioned by a skilled commissioning engineer, and SEI will arrange for this in all projects where it is required.
SEI's installation service includes a follow-up check on the system, as we have encountered that the majority of component failures occur in the first year. We can also offer longer term maintenance contracts or extended warranties on our inverter range. SEI keeps records of all systems installed enabling easier rectification of potential problems.
SEI can also be contracted to perform one-off maintenance, upkeep or upgrade projects on existing systems. As part of this service our engineers will supply a report on the systems inspected, including test results and a summary of any recommended follow-up work.
